Concept
Donated petrol buggies were converted into a buggy to be solar-powered. The frame as well as the axle mounts and seats were taken over. The complete drive train as well as the electronics were replaced. To compensate for the small roof area, there is a compartment in the roof in which fold-out solar modules are housed. The SolarBuggy was completed in the second quarter of 2015 and was named "Open World".Desert crossing
In 2015 the buggy crossed the Tanami Desert in Australia. The range with a charged battery is 50 km in the desert. The buggy has a solar roof with 160 Wp and, in a compartment under the roof, additional solar modules (not in the picture) with 1943 Wp as an extension, which can be used during breaks in driving.Datenblatt
